THE GLENLIVET - A day of only stills!

This was such a lovely day. Hot. But lovely.

It’s very rare that a brief comes my way which does not involve video. I love shooting video. As anyone who shoots products knows, it’s a real technical challenge. No offense to those who don’t shoot video, but it’s harder than photography. I love both mediums equally, and these days I find myself enjoying the challenge of a video shoot even more. That said, a day of shooting stills for The Glenlivet was a breath of fresh air, albeit hot and humid air.

All shoots have their challenges, and this one was no different. Some kit didn’t turn up on time, so we were on the back foot before we’d even got going. Thankfully, this sort of shoot is second nature to me and the lovely assistants I work with. Once everything arrived, we cracked on and made the day.

In some ways I wish there was more to talk about, but who doesn’t love an easy shoot? Everyone from the agency (Impero) and The Glenlivet were great. Other than some late kit, the shoot went perfectly and we were all happy with the shots.

A big thank you to drinks stylist Oliver Blackburn and set stylist Keelin Coyle. They both did an amazing job, which made my work far easier.

Here’s the obligatory behind-the-scenes video of people pointing at monitors and smiling. At least it shows it’s not AI.
